Duel Monsters 101

On and on the teachers drone about dueling, never allowing anyone to ever actually have time to do the object of discussion.

Until today, that is.

"Ragnarok!" the teacher calls. "You have been paying attention, yes?"

"Sephylon," I whisper, unknown to any but my friendly duel spirit. "You gotta help me out!"
"Ragnarok!" the teacher shouts. " get down here!"

Sephylon, of course, just stands to the side, watching.

"Yes sir," i say as i walk past the class. i wonder what i'll get in trouble for? i think.

"Yes, teacher sir?"

"Today you will demonstrate mill effects, or the inability to use them. You run lightsworns, yes?"

"Wait, you mean I'm gonna duel? with who?"

"With, uh..."

"with me..." Alex replied walking to the two of them. "In a mirror match. Not only do you have to prove your milling skills, but how to beat your opponent to Judgment dragon. So for this duel, we will have a mirror duel." I said that so confidently, but how do i know that this was the right choice. still, the teacher liked the idea and replied with "go ahead".

"hrmm... a mirror match, eh? It'll definitely improve my skills. let's do it!" I say as we walk in front of the class, steely glint in my eye. "just let me know when you're ready!"

"Ok, but this is a lesson, so we can't hold grudges. Also we are testing our abilities to mill, not to win. Winning will not increase your grade or mine, so let's make this as long as possible for the sake of our grades". With that, I grabbed my duel disc and said, "lets start now".

"You want it? You got it!" I say, readying my duel disc. "You Shoulda stayed seated!!"

The duel was intense and had its control shifted very easily. In the duel, Alex pulled off the victory. He also managed to complete the milling assignment, which was to mill 20 cards into the graveyard, then finish off the duel if needed. Alex was surprised though. It took him more than three turns to finish off his opponent. How strong was his opponent to last so long? Alex wasn't very sure of this, but decided not to mind it and went back to class.

Err... He did well. better than i did. "Looks like I fail the homework assignment. Oh well. That was a nice duel." I looked at the teacher. "nice lesson."

Sephylon looked on. "Where were you? No grudges, but you could've been useful."
I look back at Alex. "Nice duel."

"Yeah, that was awesome, better than the people I have dueled in my past. We should duel again". I said. I threw a card backwards towards Ragnarok, knowing that this card would be useful. Realm of light. "I don't need it, you can have it, i think you will find it useful". I said.

catches the card and looks at it. "heh. Thanks, I suppose." Pretty nice guy. Glad i met him

meanwhile at the back of the class Luke was standing, looking smart with his uniform on and his hair neat, looking over at hanzo and then at Sephylon he smiled, with a smirk he said to hanzo, "they both need development don't they? A bit of training in spirit duels and they could be like us." Hanzo replied to him, "you are not saying we train them? I mean he uses lightsworns and we have never won against them!" Luke smiled and with that hanzo knew that one way or another, they Luke would drag him into this.

On the way out of the classroom, i noticed an odd item on the floor. A key? I noticed a word was written on it. "516 shine". I had no idea what that meant, but i decided to look for that room. then i realized what that key lead to. The dueling teachers forbid anyone from entering there. I had to know why. I went to the room and began to open the door. When i unlocked the door, i made sure no one was here. Then opened it quickly. I couldn't remember what happend after a blast of light hit me directly in the chest. I only could hear Minerva for about 5 seconds before i fell into a deep sleep
